Injury Crash With Semi-truck Hauling a Flat-bed Trailer Closes Highway 219 for Hours

Officials say the Saturn was traveling faster than was safe for the road.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - crash investigation Washington County Deputies closed Highway 219 south of Hillsboro today after a car crashed into a semi-truck hauling a flat-bed trailer.

Firefighters had to extricate the occupants of the car, who were then transported to an area trauma center.

Teen Girl Survives Fatal Traffic Crash on I-5 North of Albany (UPDATE)

61-year old James Paul Marlowe Jr, died in the crash and 17-year old Levi Brown was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Fatal crash north of Albany, Oregon that happened June 11th 2009 Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash north of Albany that happened along the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Lieutenant Mark Cotter with Oregon State Police in Albany, say James Paul Marlowe Jr. was transporting a female student passenger for the Greater Albany Public School District as part of a special program in the Salem/Keizer school district.

Two Die as Truck Carrying Six Slams Into Semi

Police say the driver of a commercial truck in a ditch and blocking the road, tried in vain to warn the approaching vehicle.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Photo od crash scene Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a Friday morning fatal traffic crash that took the lives of two people on Highway 99E about three miles north of Salem.

The two Hispanic male victims have not been positively identified. Names of the others involved in this crash are being released.

OSP Sergeant Dale Young says Friday at approximately 6:02 a.m., a report was received of a commercial truck in a ditch blocking Highway 99E near Barbara Avenue NE north of Salem.

Icy Santiam Pass Claims Life of Powell Butte Woman

Victim of icy roads was a source of "immeasurable" contributions to the community.

(DETROIT, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A Powell Butte woman was killed Friday morning when she lost control of her car on an icy stretch of Highway 22 west of Santiam Pass and collided with an unloaded log truck, according to Oregon State Police (OSP) Sergeant Derek Bischoff.

Police say that at about 7:45 AM, a Honda Civic driven by 59-year old Lynne Angland, from Powell Butte, was westbound on Highway 22 near milepost 71 when her car lost control coming out of a right curve.

The Honda veered into the eastbound lanes where it collided nearly head-on with an unloaded log truck driven by 31-year old John Freeman Jr., from Bend.

Portland Man Survives High Speed Crash Into Semi Trailer

Police say the crash is an example of how drivers need to keep their speed down and their level of alertness up.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police say a Portland man was fortunate to survive a high impact car crash into the back of a moving commercial truck todayd on Interstate 84 westbound, about 500 feet east of the Rooster Rock State Park freeway interchange.

23-year old Gregory P. Angnos of southeast Portland received non-life threatening injuries in the Thursday afternoon crash that happened at 12:10 PM.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Angnos' silver 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse was westbound at a high rate of speed on Interstate 84 near milepost 24 when it crashed into the left rear corner of a semi-trailer pulled by a commercial truck.

Willamina High School Student Killed and Three Injured in Crash

Near head-on crash takes one life and closes the highway for almost six hours.

(WILLAMINA, Ore.) - willamina fatal car wreck One person died and three others, all Willamina High School students, were injured Wednesday morning during a crash involving their pickup and a commercial truck on Highway 22 about one mile west of Valley Junction.

About 8:36 AM today, a Ford Ranger extended cab pickup driven by 18-year old Anthony Thomas Gorretta, from Grand Ronde, was eastbound on Highway 22 negotiating a right curve when it lost control and crossed the center line, according to Oregon State Police.

Speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.

Fatal Crash Closes Hwy 101 Near Tillamook for Hours

Hwy 101 is a beautiful drive, but it is too often the scene of tragedy such as this. OSP reminds drivers to be aware, and stay safe.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - Crash scene Tillamook A Louisiana woman died Friday afternoon when the vehicle she was riding in was struck by a sport utility vehicle that crossed the center line of Highway 101 near Tillamook.

A Toyota Highlander driven by 43-year old Jesse James Moore, from Tillamook, was northbound on Highway 101 at about 3:24 PM near milepost 67 when it crossed the center line and collided nearly head-on with a southbound Chrysler 300 four-door rental car driven by 74-year old Shirley Scarce, from Lafayette, Louisiana, according to Oregon State Police collision reconstructionist Senior Trooper James Pierce.

Two Crashes Leave I-5 Congested Near Wilsonville

Field-trip buses from 10 Salem-Keizer schools returning from Portland this afternoon may be delayed because of traffic on I-5: Auburn, Lamb, Pringle, Hallman, Sumpter, Richmond, Salem Heights, Candalaria, Yoshikai and South High Preschool.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore. ) - freeway crash Southbound Interstate 5 remains congested at this hour due to two motor vehicle accidents that happened around 11:15 AM this morning near Wilsonville.

Firefighters arrived to find two vehicles: a Toyota Forerunner, which had gone into the median and rolled several times before resting on its side near barrier cables, and an Acura Integra which had gone off the freeway on the right shoulder.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fatal crash Salem police are investigating a Wednesday car crash that killed a 69 year-old Salem man.

Salem police say Gerald Freerksen was a passenger in a car driven by his wife, 66 year-old Linda Freerksen, when they were rear-ended by another vehicle on Highway 22.

Silverton Woman Killed in Crash Near Salem

Investigators say the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fatal crash The Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred Monday evening in a rural part of the county.

Investigators say it appears that the car left the roadway and crashed into a power pole, killing the driver, 35-year old Dana Marie Johansen of Silverton, the only occupant in the vehicle.
