`A Tribute to Veterans: A Musical Journey from the Revolutionary War On...`

Remembering America's Heroes presents a special event in Portland tonight.
(PORTLAND, Ore.) -
A special event tonight at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, offers a chance to travel through time with some the most popular songs of every war era, starting with the Revolutionary War right up through the present conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Organizers say those attending the performance will learn the historical significance of these period pieces, while enjoying the talents of some of Portland's best local entertainers.

Cinebarre Theater Opens in Salem

After three months of renovations, Cinebarre executives cut the ribbon November 5 at the old Regal Movieland location, in the heart of Salem, on High and Marion Streets.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Cinebarre, the latest venue to open in Salem, promises to entertain the 18-and over crowd with the latest hit movies and a full restaurant menu, including beer and wine.
The grand opening tonight will feature A Christmas Carol, The Box and The Fourth Kind, among other new releases. Although most showings will be of first-run films, Cinebarre's special events include important sports games, Oscar parties, and sometimes classics.

Halloween is overflowing the Oregon School for the Deaf with tricks and treats this weekend.
The $8, 20-minute horror walk is not just worth the fun but it helps a struggling school raise funds for students of Oregon’s Sign language immersion boarding school, who make up 90% of the actors.

The house in the suburbs was quite large and beautiful, hardwood flooring and decorative wallpaper complimented the intricate trim detail and crown moldings. Yet there seemed to be something else going on beneath the surface.
It wasn’t long before Mary started to notice that something was strange about their new home, whenever she was alone in the house she often felt as if she was being watched... sometimes she even thought she caught glimpses of “shadows” darting across the room out of the corner of her eye.

French Film Festival Brings Taste of French Life and Culture to Monmouth

The film festival begins tonight with "Entre les murs", winner of this year's Palme d'Or at Cannes.
(MONMOUTH, Ore.) -
Western Oregon University will host a series of French films over the course of four weeks, as part of the annual Tournées Festival.
Each film is free and open to the public, and will be shown at 7 p.m. in room 211 of the Instructional Technology Center, with the exception of the Nov. 17 film, which will be shown in room 103 of the Natural Science Building.
