Three Salem-area legislators will take part in conversation with residents.
(SALEM ) -
Representative Vicki Berger (R-Salem) will host a town hall on Tuesday, May 15th from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sprague High School. She will be joined by Representative Kevin Cameron (R-Salem) and Senator Jackie Winters (R-Salem).
This event will offer an opportunity for the communities and neighborhoods of South Salem to ask questions and discuss issues directly with three Salem-area legislators. “I’m excited to be joined with my colleagues to have a conversation with the residents of South Salem,” Berger said.

Teen Arrested For Threatening to Blow-Up South Salem High

There is no indication that the teen had any plans in place to commit the act police said.
(SALEM) -
Salem police arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday for threatening to blow up South Salem High School. The teen is a student at the school and left a note on a wall on Monday afternoon threatening that people would die at the school on November 1st.
He said that he was just capitalizing on the publicity centering around a threat that appeared on a bathroom wall last week, but there is no indication he was involved in that threat.

Threat Raises Security at South Salem High Again Tuesday

Parents have to make a choice whether to send their South Salem students to school for a second day this week.
(SALEM) -
School officials are maintaining higher security measures at South Salem High School following the discovery of another threatening message.
Families of South Salem students have been receiving phone calls from an automated system warning that a threat has been made against the school for Monday, now the calls have come through a second time advising that another threat exists for Tuesday.

News that Frank Boussad is selling Presley’s Playhouse Cabaret before it even opens it’s doors has neighbors and businesses located near the club breathing a sigh of relief for now.

FOR SALE! Controversial strip club located in south Salem at the former Mike’s Steak & Seafood House, 3803 Commercial St. SE. Price $1.2 million.
Frank Boussad, who faced overwhelming opposition to his club from nearby residents, planned to open Presley’s Playhouse Cabaret which was to feature nude dancing, has decided to sell the property and the business.

Meet the New South Salem High School Assistant Principals at Ice Cream Social

South Salem High School would like to invite the Salem community to meet the school's three new assistant principals, and find out how they will help South continue its tradition of excellence.
The school is hosting an Ice Cream Social on August 24th at 7:00 PM in the commons.
The new assistant principals are:
David Phelps, curriculum assistant principal from Lincoln County School District.
Barton Tumlinson, discipline assistant principal from Scappoose School District.
Lilian White, discipline assistant principal from Iredell/Statesville School District.
