(LOS ANGELES) -
It was interesting to watch Matt Lauer have to be "cool" about marijuana in this week's NBC Today Show segment titled "Stiletto Stoners", which related a story of growing numbers of women who prefer pot as a wind down drug, that they see as far less harmful than alcohol or other substances.
Marie Claire editor-in-chief Joanna Coles, is one of many modern professional women who disagree with the somewhat common belief, that there is a large social stigma attached to smoking marijuana.

Iran`s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad & NBC`s Ann Curry
Tim King Salem-News.com
Is it all about semantics?
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Enough is enough. American politicians and newsrooms need to stop being so intent on stating that Iran has a nuclear weapons program, when there is no evidence of it.
The biggest problem is the eternal cultural barrier between the east and west. It cost us dearly during negotiations with Vietnam, and I have seen the problems associated with it first-hand in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Then I saw it last week when NBC's Ann Curry interviewed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Bonnie King Salem-News.com
New York City TV just showed its colors.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Cannabis, or marijuana as it is widely known in the United States, has been used medicinally for thousands of years. This fact is indisputable. Another fact, it has never caused a death.
Now, let's get down to business. Speaking directly to those with an objection to marijuana: You don't like marijuana, because it makes you uncomfortable. As a kid, it was a taboo, and associated with the seedy road of life. Now that you're an adult, you see it as a risk. A risk to your social status, to your employment status, even to your personal relationships.

Has FOX News Gone Too Far?
Bob Fertik Special to Salem-News.com
In the first week of this petition campaign, 11 advertisers canceled their support of FOX.
(NEW YORK) -
It isn't news nor is it slanted to say that FOX News has always been the propaganda arm of the Republican Party, willing to twist facts and even lie to promote the Republican agenda.
But the election of President Obama in 2008 pushed FOX News into outright hate-mongering and incitement of violence, which is intolerable in a democracy.

To one side hangs a wide screen television. Why is it there and why is it on?
