The Coast Guard says weather conditions on scene were approaching gale force winds with water temperatures in the low to mid 50's.
(ASTORIA, Ore. ) - The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for a 35-year-old man who fell overboard Saturday, near the Columbia River entrance.
Coast Guard Group Astoria spokesman says they received a call from the 36-foot fishing vessel Ida W II that one of their crew members had fallen overboard and was not wearing a life vest.
They then launched an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and Coast Guard Station Cape Disapointment launched two 47-foot motor life boat crews to the scene.
