Mike Wallace Passes Away at 93

Wallace was known to Americans for six decades of media involvement.

(SALEM) - Mike Wallace in 2007 Noted American newsman Myron Leon "Mike" Wallace died Saturday in New Canaan, Connecticut, at the age of 93. Also this week we said goodbye to our longtime Op-Ed Writer Henry Clay Ruark who was still working in media at 94.

During his career, Mike Wallace worked as a journalist, game show host and actor; his role in the media world was wide and varied.

Sri Lanka Orders Probe on Attack on Indian Statue

According to the police, two other statues of local figures had also been attacked on Thursday, which appeared to have been a coordinated crime.

(COLOMBO, Sri Lanka Xinhua) - Vadalized statues in Sri Lanka Sri Lanka's government ordered an investigation into the vandalism of several statues including that of Indian independence icon Mahatma Gandhi.

There were fears the attack on the Indian icon's statue may have been in retaliation to India's decision to vote against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council recently.

(BEIRUT Al-Manar) - Abuse of female maids in Lebanon University students surveyed in Lebanon on the subject of how to improve their society identified three groups most in urgent need of immediate Lebanese governmental action.

They believe those most victimized by Lebanon’s laws are migrant domestic workers, women, who make up half of Lebanon’s population, and the estimated 250,000 Palestinian refugees.
