Police Shoot and Kill Attacking Pit Bull

The police sergeant's injury was described as a "substantial bite".

(SALEM) - In addition to his role as a sergeant with Salem Police, Jason VanMeder is a U.S. Marine. Police say a callout to a Domestic Disturbance led to a police sergeant suffering injuries from a dog attack, and the subsequent fatal shooting of a pit bull.

Officers reportedly knocked at the door of the residence, made contact, and issued instructions to the people inside the residence, to put the dog away.

(LONDON / OAKLAND) - Armed Coast Guard forces Monday, Occupy Oakland and labor organizations have called a demonstration to protest the use of armed Coast Guard cutters and helicopters to escort a ship into the port of Longview, Washington to load grain from the EGT terminal.

The terminal is being picketed by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU)... this is a struggle for their survival.

Corps to release water stored behind Willamette Valley dams

"We’ll do everything we can to keep water levels below the tops of the riverbanks..." Erik Petersen, operations project manager for the Corps’ Willamette Valley Projects.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Willamette basin The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin increasing the amount of water released from its 13 dams in the Willamette River Basin this weekend, to prepare for storms predicted to arrive next week.

Residents immediately downriver of Dexter, Dorena and Fern Ridge dams may see water levels exceed bankfull levels.

Arrested Rwandan Generals are Being Tortured

It is believed that the three were arrested due to their close relationship with General Kayumba who lives in exile in South Africa.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Rwanda President Paul Kagame Sources in the UDF and RDF reported to this reporter that the four generals in Rwanda that have been arrested was falsely reported as being arrested for questionable dealings in the DRC but in reality they were arrested due to the fleeing of 600-800 soldiers in December 2011.

The arrest of these Generals has led to them allegedly being tortured.

Ofcom found that Press TV’s practice of running its editorial oversight from Tehran, Iran‘s capital, is in breach of broadcasting licence rules in the UK.

Four Rwandan Generals Arrested on False Charges

FDU-INKINGI and RNC Statement on the suspension, arrest and detention of Senior Military Officers of Rwanda Defence Forces.

(LASANNE, Switzerland) - Rwandan top military officials Three Rwandan generals and a colonel were suspended from duty and placed under house arrest on 17 January 2012.

The defence spokesman, Colonel Joseph Nzabamwita, confirmed the suspensions, arrests and detentions of the four military officers.
