Thousand Oaks, California Mass Shooting

...as sure as night follows day...

(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) - This marked the 307th mass shooting incident so far this year. Clearly gun violence in America remains an ongoing issue. After these many mass shootings, there has been a noticeable absence of action at the federal level about gun violence in this country and I am not hopeful that there will be any after this latest incident.

I suspect there will be more “thoughts and prayers” and the same discussion -- sorrow, helplessness, outrage, and another futile call for gun control.

Beaverton Attorney Found Dead After Estranged Wife`s Homicide

Lemarr Carver was a criminal attorney with a former practice in Salem, Oregon

(SALEM, Ore.) - Tuesday, the woman was positively identified as Tricia Lynn Carver. An autopsy determined that her death was a homicide and the cause was by strangulation.

A search warrant brought law enforcement to the Hillsboro residence of her estranged husband, 42-year old Lemarr Carver, Wednesday night at about 9:30. When the tactical team entered the home of Mr. Carver, he was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

(ST PAUL, Ore.) - The body of an adult female was discovered in a field this morning, in the area of Vachter Road NE and River Road NE, near St. Paul. Deputies and detectives with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called at about 7:00 a.m.

At this point, Detectives are investigating the case as a suspicious death.

DEA Releases 2018 National Drug Threat Assessment

GOP Solution for Deficits - Cut Social Safety Nets!

The GOP tax “overall” made no attempt to eliminate the deficit, much less the debt.

Of course, the Republicans claim that their $1.5 trillion tax overhaul last year had nothing to do with this, but experts estimate that the tax overhaul will result in about $1.45 trillion in net deficits over a decade.

According to a Friday report by Oregon Public Broadcasting, Brake told members of the Oregon Food Bank, “[Measure 103] twisted its meanings in directions that I could not have imagined... I very much regret ever agreeing to be involved in 103.”
