Filner Applauds Passage of Veterans` COLA Bill

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed S. 894, the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2011. S. 894 passed the Senate on 19 Oct. This measure will be sent to the White House, and the President is expected to sign it into law.

The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), which takes effect on 1 Dec. 2011, would increase the rates of disability compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities and the rates of dependency and indemnity compensation for survivors.
