Oregon`s High Court Upholds $9 Million Judgment Against Farmer`s Insurance

The majority opinion in the case noted that the high court considered the defendant’s arguments in the petition for review.

(SACRAMENTO) - The Oregon Supreme Court has has upheld a $8.9 million judgment against Farmer’s Insurance Co. of Oregon, following a class action complaint decrying the company’s practices related to payment of personal injury protection (PIP) benefits.

The decision, issued July 8, marked the Supreme Court’s second opinion in the case.

Israeli Sex Suspect Accused of Blackmailing Young American Girls

(LONDON) - Y-Net reported this morning about the arrest of an Israeli man on suspicion of blackmailing some 100 US girls. The Israeli man was detained on suspicion of hacking the computers of the girls and threatening to circulate their intimate photos, unless they perform indecent acts on their webcam.

Almost 100 girls aged 12 to 17 were among the victims. . The Israel man  is believed to have hacked their computers, seeking embarrassing photographs and later approaching them on online social networks and threatening them.

Salem Child Injured in Motorcycle Crash Flown to OHSU

(SALEM, Ore.) - A 7-year old Salem boy is being treated at the Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland following a motorcycle-vehicle crash this afternoon.

Marion County Deputy Justin Kinyon received the call of the crash at 5:55pm. Witnesses reported a young child drove a 2000 Yamaha 90cc dirt motorcycle onto the roadway from private property and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Lakeside Drive.
