Growing up ... kids dream of different things they want to do and all the things they want to be.

(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) - For me, I must admit I always wanted to be the Queen of England, Miss America, or someone from Europe. To this day I still partly wish I was a naturalized American from "the Continent" ... who knows why?!?

Perhaps it's because I find foreign lands and people so interesting, and therefore calculate being "foreign" would somehow make me interesting as well. (Don't we all crave interesting?)

(SALEM, Ore.) - They say “every dog has his day” and for Salem area dogs, that day is Saturday, July 23, when Willamette Humane Society (WHS) hosts its third annual Pooch’s Play Day.

Area dog owners and their canine best friends are invited to come to the shelter from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on July 23 for an afternoon of doggie-themed games and activities, including a “pup” cake walk, bobbing for tennis balls, and the “My Dog Will Eat That” competition.

(CLEVELAND) - On the 20th of April, 2011, two bodies were recovered near the Conowingo Dam by Maryland State Police. The following day one of the remains were positively identified through dental records to be that of missing North Carolina teen Phylicia Barnes.

The Baltimore Police Department is now working jointly with the Maryland State Police to investigate the circumstances of her disappearance and subsequent death.
