Oregon Legislature Unanimously Passes HJM 28 to Protect the Northwest from Additional Nuclear Waste

HJM 28 passed through both chambers unanimously.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Nuclear Faces The Oregon Legislature gave final unanimous approval to HJM 28 on Wednesday, urging the US Dept. of Energy to remove the Hanford Nuclear Reservation from their list of candidate sites for national permanent disposal of radioactive waste.

The US Dept. of Energy is currently considering Hanford as a candidate site for Greater-than-Class-C nuclear waster disposal.
