Forestry Groups Express Continued Concern Over Spotted Owl Plan

The Service should utilize the latest scientific modeling as a basis for policy changes.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Logging Today, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) announced the opening of a 30-day public comment period limited to a technical appendix to the Northern Spotted Owl Draft Revised Recovery Plan released last fall.

Forest landowners and mill owners expressed disappointment at the Service’s failure to release other aspects of the current draft plan and skepticism about the time allowed.

Child Pornography Bill Closes Loophole, Sets Absolute Ban on Viewing

SB 803 addresses Supreme Court ruling that raised serious concerns.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon's Senate approved legislation to midofy the definition of “visual depiction” in crimes relating to child pornography to include accessing photos on the Internet.

Senate Bill 803 was introduced in response to an Oregon Supreme Court ruling in January that said it isn’t a crime to look at child pornography on the Internet if the viewer doesn’t purposely download images, print them out, or pay for them.

Unlike Mubarak, publicly friendly with Israel, Gaddafi has publicly bashed Israel for decades.
