The Abu Salim Massacre: Cables on Libya`s Continued Impunity for 1996 Killings

(LOS ANGELES) - Libya Two days ahead of calls to protest the Gaddafi regime in a “Day of Rage” on February 17, members of the Committee of the Families of the Victims of the Abu Salim Massacre came out to protest.

Libyan attorney and human rights activist Fathi Terbil, who represents families that had family members massacred in mass prison killings that took place at the Abu Salim prison in 1996, was arrested. Terbil’s arrest led to an eruption of protests ahead of the planned “Day of Rage”.

Peace Resistance, Israeli Arrests and Shootings Continue

The number of arrests and charges being laid against the residents and activists are continuing to mount...

(AL ARAKIB Occupied Palestine) - Routing Palestinians in al Arakib Over the past two days, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), Israeli Land Administration (ILA) and Yassam riot police returned to Al Arakib.

After a brief few days of relative peace in the village, the residents had erected approximately 15 temporary wooden structures in between the terraces of earth that had been created by the JNF. On Wednesday, these were again demolished.

Albany Man Sentenced to Prison in Child Pornography Case

Attorney General Kroger says his top legislative priority in 2011 is to fix Oregon’s child pornography law in response to an adverse court ruling.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Prison Investigations by Oregon Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit have led to prison sentences in three child pornography case so far this year.

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today announced a 73-month prison sentence for an Albany man who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
