In theory it’s now Egypt’s generals who will decide when Mubarak goes.
(LONDON) -
For many years I believed that Israel’s leaders have no equals in the business of saying one thing and doing another. But Mubarak has proved me wrong.
He went on television to tell Egyptians that he would be staying on for some months because only he could restore stability and set the stage for it to continue after he stepped down.

In reference to Jordan’s King Abdullah II, who recently sacked the Jordanian cabinet and acquired a new one in an attempt to appease protesters demanding political and economic reforms, the State Dept. authority announces:

Vietnam-era Veterans whose service involved duty on or near the perimeters of military bases in Thailand may have been exposed to herbicides and may qualify for VA benefits.
A recently declassified Department of Defense Report written in 1973 contains evidence that there was a significant use of herbicides on the fenced-in perimeters of military bases in Thailand.
The eyes, hope and solidarity of much of the Middle East are on Tahrir Square and the bloodied but unbowed Egyptian people.
(BEIRUT) -
It is difficult to overstate the potential for Egyptian citizens advancing universal aspirations for freedom, dignity and basic human rights.
These are now spreading from the determination of those who for more than a week have risked their lives while inspiring much of the World at Cairo’s Tahrir Square.
