Richard Falk Reponds to The Lobby`s Vilification
By Prof. Richald Falk Special to Salem-News.com
For anyone who read the blog post in its entirety, it should be plain that the reference to the 9/11 issues is both restrained and tangential.
(LOS ANGELES) -
Because my blog prompted by the Arizona shootings has attracted many comments pro and con, and more recently has been the object of a more selective public attack on me personally, I thought it appropriate to post a supplementary blog with the purpose of clarifying my actual position and re-focusing attention on the plight and suffering of the Palestinian people being held in captivity.

The Palestine Papers and Us
Gilad Atzmon Salem-News.com
The Palestinian people will liberate themselves eventually -- but it is also about time we all liberate ourselves from the grip of Israeli and Jewish lobbies.
(LONDON) -
I have a rule -- I never intervene in Palestinian political matters. I never comment on Palestinian internal debate.
I do not think that I have the right to do so : I am an ex-Israeli and an ex-Jew, and I write about Israel, Jewish Identity politics, and Zionism.

The Sands of Bayocean
JD Adams Salem-News.com
The story of Bayocean is one of ruthless ambition and human folly amid the seductive beauty of the Oregon Coast.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Bayocean - the name evokes an inviting duality of the rolling sea and a paradise sheltered from storms, where the blue sky is painted with soft clouds that drift across the horizon like daydreams.
And so it was for many years for those who thought life there would be idyllic, nestled into the uncrowded beach of the Tillamook Peninsula.

State of Our Union Reality Check
Eileen Fleming Salem-News.com
Only when America uses our might to do right will it be reality that American leadership has been renewed and America’s moral standing restored.
(CLERMONT, Fla.) -
President Obama said during his State of the Union speech, “America’s moral example must always shine for all who yearn for freedom, justice, and dignity. And because we have begun this work, tonight we can say that American leadership has been renewed and America’s standing has been restored.”
The same day, a UK report relayed how Israeli soldiers in Operation Cast Lead stated how their commanders would "psych up" the soldiers before an operation so they were ready to shoot indiscriminately.

Injealetent and Keith Olbermann
Poetry by Luke Easter Intro by Tim King Salem-News.com
Americans have been taught that they are supposed to have a range of views, but they are not being allowed that; Olbermann had been the exception.
(CLEVELAND / SALEM) -
The loss of Keith Olbermann from the mainstream American airwaves was significant.
In a nation of largely peaceful people who really don't support war as an ideal way of handling world problems, and who oppose unfair advantages for big business and low wages and adversity over religion and class structure; he was a lone voice.

SAMs for Uncle Sam Excerpt from new Book: Radical Peace- People Refusing War
William Hathaway for Salem-News.com
People Refusing War, includes an interview with an Iraqi student whose family was brutalized by American soldiers. She tells how this turned her into a pacifist and her brother into a resistance fighter, and she comments on the atrocities in Palestine.
(OLDENBURG, Germany) -
Merna al-Marjan is a young Iraqi who is currently in Germany studying European history.
We talked in her dormitory room, a spartan but functional cubicle in a building that embodies a hopeful change in European history: it was constructed in the nineteenth century as an army barracks but now houses university students. That's progress.

Egypt`s Bittersweet Reality - Power to the People
Story by Tim King Video by Ken O'Keefe Salem-News.com
Egypt's heart is with the Palestinian people.
(SALEM / GAZA) -
The world has been moving ever so slowly toward something right; the revolution has begun and the people of Egypt took to the streets to show Hosni Mubarak that they are simply done with their corrupt government's ways.
I never will forget the heated moments related to our newsroom during an international hunger strike in Cairo that was held at the US embassy to raise awareness about the need to open Gaza's borders.
