UK hostage in Afghanistan was killed by US, not Insurgents, Hague confirms

Norgrove's death was first attributed to an insurgent detonating a suicide vest, an account that was reported around the world until doubts were voiced.

(LONDON IRNA) - British aid worker Linda Norgrove Foreign Secretary William Hague announced Thursday that British aid worker Linda Norgrove was killed by a grenade thrown by US soldiers sent to rescue her.

A joint US-UK investigation found that US special forces had not immediately notified officers further up the chain of command about the grenade.

Hillsboro Police and WCSO Negotiators Safely end Barricaded Person Call

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Salem-News.com This morning at 4:20 am, members of the Hillsboro Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Beaverton Police, and FBI successfully took a distraught Hillsboro man into custody after five hour negotiations.

Officers received a welfare check call regarding Gary Eugene Overby, age 40, 2300 block of NW 188th Ave in Hillsboro on last night at 1130 pm. This call was due to concern over his mental state and in response to messages he had sent his ex-wife earlier in the day stating that he was suicidal.

State officials say they will strip Terrence Kimble of his phone privileges and place him in the 'hole' again as he continues surviving a pattern of what clearly appears to be official misconduct and corruption.

Thoughts on Germany and Palestine

In visiting Germany one cannot help but reflect on history.

(BETHLEHEM) - Germany and Palestine The conference in Stuttgart about Palestine; themed "Separated in the past, together in the future", was sold-out, and had some high powered speakers and lots of energy.

We listened, spoke, networked, bought each others' books, ate, hugged, cried, and laughed. I mostly spent lots of time in thinking; maybe because waiting at airports or because such conferences give us opportunity to reflect or whatever.
