Oregon Expects Large Revenues in Marijuana Industry Over the Next Two Years

Marijuana (cannabis) is more "mainstream" every day, which means big bucks for business.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Portland Oregon It seems as though the marijuana industry may act as somewhat of a windfall for the state of Oregon over the next couple of years.

With state taxes set at 17% of retail sale price, and the option for counties and cities to add a local tax of up to 3%, the revenue from taxes is expected to reach around $142 million over the next two years.

Salem Couple Sentenced to Prison for Selling Heroin

Heroin is a killer. Use has been increasing among men and women, most age groups, and all income levels.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - heroin Today, Polk County District Attorney Aaron Felton announced the conviction and sentencing of Jeffrey Bledsoe and Adrienne Santrizos.

The Salem couple was sentenced to prison terms of over 10 years and 7 1/2 years, respectively, for their roles in selling large quantities of heroin as part of an undercover drug enforcement operation.
