Theft Suspects in Stolen Vehicle Arrested in Salem

(SALEM, Ore.) - Left : William Farris Right : Michael Sparks Just before noon today, an alert motorist called the Salem Police to report he had observed two males in a silver Mitsubishi northbound on Liberty St NE from Hood St and that the passenger was wearing gloves and looking through a woman's purse. The motorist provided the call taker with the license plate number.

Officers responding to the area ran a check on the vehicle and determined that it had been reported stolen yesterday afternoon from south Salem. Ten minutes after hearing the call, Officer John Manitsas spotted the stolen vehicle driving through the parking lot of Fred Meyer, 2855 Broadway St NE, occupied by two males.

Investigation Into Early Morning Shooting is Continuing

A dark colored sedan, possibly a Honda left the scene after the shooting.

(SALEM, Oregon) - Suspect Vhicle Initial 911 calls of shots being heard in the area were received at 3:25am. As deputies arrived in the area, they received the 3:34am call of the victim being shot.

The number of shots fired has not been confirmed as of this time, but a number of bullet holes were observed in the victim's house & windows. Forensic evidence was collected at the scene.

Salem Man Injured in Early Morning Shooting (VIDEO)

Investigation of the incident is ongoing.

(SALEM, Oregon) - Shooting Investigation Salem residents in the 4000 block of Bonanza Drive NE were awakened to the sound of gunfire at approximately 3:34am this morning.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls from citizens reporting the shots being fired. The exact number of rounds fired and the type of weapon used is unconfirmed at this time.

Serious Injury Traffic Crash West of Lebanon on Highway 34

(LEBANON, Ore.) - smashed prius Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle head-on crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 34 about one mile west of Lebanon. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Albany Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Brad Hales, on October 5, 2010 at approximately 4:40 p.m. a 2009 Toyota Prius four-door driven by Alma Mix, age 45, from Albany, was eastbound on Highway 34 near milepost 16 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled into the westbound lane collided head-on with a 2010 Toyota pickup driven by Daniel Rackham, age 27, from Albany.

Beaverton Police Asking Public`s Help in Identifying Burglary Suspects

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Beaverton ATM Robbery On October 3, 2010, at 4:38 a.m., Beaverton police officers were dispatched to an alarm at Richard's Deli, 3625 S.W. Hall Boulevard. The front doors were found ajar and the ATM machine missing.

Upon review of the video tape, police found two suspects had pried the front doors open with a crow bar, pulled the ATM free from its floor bolts using a tow strap, drug it out of the store and loaded it onto the bed of a white pickup truck. The truck is possibly a mid 1980's, boxy style, with a black bed liner.

High Speed Race of over 120 MPH North of Woodburn Leads to Two Arrest

The drivers did not know each other

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Left: Nicholas Phillips Right: Valentin Khalaman Two men involved in speed racing on Interstate 5 north of Woodburn Sunday morning both ended up back at a Salem-area jail after they were stopped and arrested following speeds that reach in excess of 120 mph.

On October 3, 2010 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Andrew Goffrier was patrolling northbound on Interstate 5 near Woodburn in an unmarked OSP ADEP (Aggressive Driving Enforcement Program) patrol car. As Goffrier was driving in the right northbound lane near milepost 273 he saw a red 1994 BMW 325i car coming up from behind at a high rate of speed. The BMW, followed by a silver 2004 Dodge Neon, slowed down briefly as both vehicles passed the unmarked OSP car and then took off at speeds nearing 100 mph.
