Just as it was getting dark, four people were sitting around in the yard having a barbecue and enjoying the beautiful weather when suddenly, their attention was drawn skyward by a sound like a “swish” or a “swoosh” or as one witness stated, “like air coming straight down.”

Several of the observers at almost the same time yelled out some exclamations including one man who said, “What the hell is that?” They were all startled to see a tremendously large bird that was flying over a tree in the yard about 30-40 feet overhead.

Salem Chosen to be Part of $230 Million National Electric Vehicle Project

(SALEM, Ore.) - Tuesday, August 31, 2010 – Salem, Ore. – Beginning October 2010, ECOtality North America, the project manager for "The EV Project," will begin installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Salem and three other metropolitan areas in Oregon (Eugene, Portland, and Corvallis).

ECOtality is overseeing a $230 million public-private initiative to deploy nearly 15,000 EV charging stations in six states and the District of Columbia. The $230 million project is funded, in part, through a grant from the Department of Energy (DOE).

Autopsy reports confirm that David Scott Jondle died from multiple stabs wounds from a scythe. Marilyn Ruth Jondle died from blunt force trauma as the result of being beaten with a metal pipe, according to reports.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - Deputies are investigating a double homicide that occurred in Polk County, South of Dallas. In custody for the grisly crime is the dead couple's 20-year old son. Investigators say 61-year old David Scott Jondle, and his wife, 58-year old Marilyn Ruth Jondle, were killed by their son, 20-year old Andrew Jondle.

Police Shoot Armed Gunman Ending Hostage Scene at Discovery Channel

James Lee's MySpace states: "It's time for REVOLUTION!!!"

(SILVER SPRINGS, Md.) - Police in Montgomery County, Maryland say an armed gunman who was holding three hostages in the channel's building in Silver Springs has been shot by police.

Police say the suspect's name is James Lee, a resident of Silver Springs. He may be an environmental activist though information is somewhat sketchy at this point. It is reported that shots were fired. Silver Springs Police say the 43-year old suspect is not unknown. Lee has reportedly been calling for protests against Discovery Channel and was arrested for disorderly conduct outside of the company's headquarters in 2008.
