Benny & Sid Presents Chapter 13 of the new serialized graphic novel The Hummer

(Your City, USA) - The Hummer #13 Try to make somebody happy, and they're never satisfied. Somebody is always looking for the thing you didn't do, and they don't see the things you did do.

I mean you don't expect to get a cookie every time you make your bed, but for pity sake don't criticize a guy if he happens to leave his shirt tail untucked. People start pushing too hard and that's when you start looking other places to be and other things to do.

Medical Marijuana Addiction: Hogwash

Arresting marijuana users is a bad excuse for financially supporting Police Drug Warriors and the Penitentiary System.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Marijuana joint The cops of all kinds, District Attorneys and Judges have been spending too much time imbibing ardent spirits, watching the moving REEFER MADNESS or its equivalent and listening to other police “Drug Identification Specialists” fill their ears and brains with HOGWASH.

Marijuana medical patients are neither intoxicated nor addicted. They are confusing them with fat people taking amphetamines, their fellow alcoholic cops, people on Oxycontin or Morphine, nicotine fiends or coffee junkies.

The Trials and Tribulations of Transparency

I am not saying that if you are not cynical you’re naïve...

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Government transparency I have been covering the state government’s transparency efforts here at Salem-News for several months. As part of that coverage, I built the Oregon Transparency Project website, which makes State expenditure data easily accessible to the public.

I attended a meeting of the Transparency Oregon Advisory Commission today where I had the opportunity to witness their efforts first hand, hear from representatives of the Department of Administrative Services on their progress, and meet with leaders in the State’s transparency efforts.

Forget Dialogue

If we think that the rules of the failed “peace movement” were different than those of the new “dialogue movement”, perhaps it’s time to get wise.

(ROME) - Israel flag For quite a while, people involved in activism (as advocates of Palestinian nationalism and the Palestinian cause) have been part of a “dialogue movement”.

This follows an extended period of time wasted in the failed “peace movement”. Once we figured out it was another Zionist trap (and it admittedly took several decades too long, since no Palestinian advocacy participant is against peace, so it was difficult to communicate to all that peace was not its objective and thus our participation was enabling Zionism) we were well out the door.

Will it Take a Broom or a Wrecking-ball?

At this point I sincerely hope that the broom can still do the job and we don’t have to resort to a total demolition and rebuilding of both political parties.

(DENVER) - Democrats and Republicans AP published a story yesterday (May 26, 2010) by PHILIP ELLIOTT titled “Tea Party win embarrasses GOP establishment”. There is no question that this loss was an embarrassment to the GOP.

Democratic losses were every bit as much as an embarrassment to the Democrats. It certainly seems that neither the Republicans nor the Democrats get it.

Time for Repeal of Don`t Ask, Don`t Tell Policy

Repeal "don't ask, don't tell" now. It is the right thing to do.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Gay people in the miltiary It is about time for an immediate repeal of the 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy for homosexuals in the military. I only wish President Obama had fulfilled his campaign pledge by repealing the policy by executive order.

And I don't understand why the current proposal for repeal will go into effect only after the $5 million Pentagon study is received on December 1. What if the study recommends against repeal?
