Senate Democrats Applaud Full Slate of Nominees

Candidates will run in all 16 Senate races in the 2010 November election.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon state capital Democratic candidates for the Oregon Senate were finalized this evening. Three candidates won contested primaries and thirteen others won the official nomination of the Democratic Party.

“This is an exceptionally strong slate of candidates,” said Senate Majority Leader Richard Devlin, a candidate for Senate District 19 (Tualatin, Lake Oswego, and West Linn).

Senators and Representatives Support Ban on Landmines: Letters Sent to President Obama

“The strong support these letters have received shows that Congress is firmly behind accession to the Mine Ban Treaty” - Zach Hudson, Coordinator, U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Damage to a truck in Iraq was caused by a landmine or an IED A letter signed by 68 senators, asking the administration to join the 1997 Landmine Ban Treaty, was delivered to President Obama on Tuesday.

The signers include 10 Republicans and two Independents and constitute more than the two-thirds of the Senate needed to ratify a treaty.

Police Say Suspects Laughed & Giggled While Robbing a Blind Man`s Guide Cane

Detectives ask anyone with information concerning this suspect person or crime to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Police say two suspects pried a cane from the blind victim's hand; which, also caused injuries to the victim's shoulder that required immediate medical attention.

The victim also described how the approaching youths were ‘laughing and giggling' as they came walking closer to Davis on the ramp.
