(LOS ANGELES) - Iraq and Afghanistan It is so easy for Americans to be supportive of the wars overseas, but understanding what they support is a different thing altogether. There are the politics, but let's put that aside.

The lives of combat forces are hard, very hard. There is the fear, there is the anticipation, the heat, the cold, the fatigue, the marginal food, the attitudes, the endlessly competitive spirit of competition, the list goes on and on.

Deception, Death and Darfur

Sources confirm that hundreds of people were arrested and more will continue to be over the next few days.

(EL FASHER / PORTLAND) - Salem-News.com The citizens of Darfur came together in protest on Tuesday, April 27 in El Fasher. Although their protest ended after an hour, many felt that they had begun to send their message that, “the government that is killing innocents must stop”.

Our source says the police came in force using tear gas, batons, live and blank AK-47 rounds, against those protesting.

Salem Carousel`s `Lady Camoolot` Adopted by Rickreall Dairy

The ornamental Carousel landmark ‘moooved’ down to Salem sometime in 2004.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Lady Camoolot An adoption – of sorts – took place in in Salem, Oregon Friday.

One of the Carousel’s artworks, Lady Camoolot, a fine bejeweled bovine, was transported via truck and trailer, from Salem’s Riverfront Carousel, out to live at the Rickreall Dairy.

UC Berkley Vote: A Travesty of the `Democratic` Process

The students at Berkeley will remember who voted for, and who voted against.

Inmates on Work Crew Save Deputy`s Life

"According to EMS responders, the inmates' quick thinking and immediate action help to save the deputy's life" -Lt. Mary Lindstrand, MCSO

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 46-year old James Robert Parker, serving time for Contempt of Court, and 45-year old Michael Wayne Smith, down on an Assault charge, thought fast and helped save a deputy`s life on a jail work crew. A Multnomah County Sheriff's Office inmate work crew helped save a deputy's life‏ Friday.

Around 3:00 p.m. Friday, an MCSO Corrections deputy was overcome with medical complications while he and his inmate work crew were rendering aid to a stranded motorist.
