Two Salem Drivers Arrested for Driving 100+ in Two Separate Incidents

Two motorcycle drivers take a back seat ride to the Marion County Jail.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Slow down keep it at the limit Deputy Ryan Postlewait and his unmarked traffic vehicle were very busy last weekend, making two arrests in one day for Reckless Driving, at high speeds.

In one instance, he was driving eastbound on Quinaby Road NE near Highway 99E. As he approached the intersection he observed a 2008 Suzuki.

Deputy Postlewait watched as the motorcycle drove in the oncoming lane at a high rate of speed and as the driver started to do a ‘wheelie'. The driver continued to travel with the front tire in the air for at least 15 yards.

Oregon Boat Registration Renewal Reminders Are Coming

When registering online, decals are mailed within 5-7 days

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon boaters Boaters with registration decals for “08” or “09” on their boat will soon be getting their courtesy registration renewal notice in the mail.

The Marine Board is mailing approximately 102,000 notices on October 30. The notices will include the new $5 surcharge for the Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Permit fund in addition to the boat registration fee which is unchanged.

Suspect Sought in Clackamas Shooting

Clackamas County Sheriff's investigators conducting investigation into shooting incident on SE 85th and Monterey‏.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Shooting A 16-year old boy called Clackamas County dispatchers Sunday evening after being shot, and taking refuge in an apartment in the Monterey Springs apartment complex; which, is located in the immediate vicinity of the reported shooting where multiple rounds were believed to have been fired.

Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says the call came in a 6:07 p.m.

Pre-positioning food before heavy snowfall begins will allow WFP to continue providing desperately needed assistance to vulnerable Afghans during the harsh winter months.

Costly Day for Americans in Afghanistan

Ten Americans killed as helicopter is lost, and four Americans were killed as a result of the mid-air collision.

(KABUL) - Salem-News.com The U.S. experienced one of its worst days so far in Afghanistan, losing three helicopters and 14 American servicemen.

Fox News reports that the first incident involved a helicopter that was lost after picking up troops who had been in a firefight/ 10 Americans were killed, among those were seven members of the U.S. military and three civilian employees.
