Tribute to Oregon Professor Jeffrey Barlow

Oregon has lost a noted Scholar, distinguished historian, and long-time Pacific University professor.

(YAMHILL, Ore.) - Jeffrey G. Barlow, Ph.D Dr. Barlow taught Asian History in Oregon at institutions of higher learning; University of Oregon, Lewis & Clark College, and retired as Professor Emeritus from Pacific University. He was a co-founding member of the Northwest China Council and editor of the Journal of the Association for History and Computing.

A lifelong friend of China, he was active in the U.S. China Peoples’ Friendship Association before normalization of U.S.-China relations in 1978. He was a Fulbright student and a Fulbright Scholar.

Detroit Mud Run is Oregon`s Version of Filthy Fun

Run through the lake bottom! There's no "run" like this one...

(DETROIT, Ore.) - Detroit mud run 2016 Today, people of all ages from all over the state and beyond, will be coming to Detroit, Oregon even though the lake is low. They are here to recreate, but there will be no boating, fishing or swimming today. These people are here to run through the lake bottom.

The annual Mud Run is close to six miles, through creeks and mud, over rocks and logs, while deer and other wildlife look on.

Teen Faces Disorderly Conduct Charge for Clown-Related Social Media Post

Of the multiple occurrences of reported clown sightings and "threats" involving clowns, none of the cases have amounted to actual threats.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - no clowns A juvenile male in the Centennial School District is facing a first degree Disorderly Conduct charge because of a social media post he made last night, claiming "killer clowns" were coming to two of Centennial's schools today to hurt students.

The student, identified during an extensive police investigation, posted the threat online after seeing similar things being talked about on media sites.

Vancouver Woman Identified as Victim of Homicide

Person of interest was last seen driving a white, 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup, bearing Oregon plate 184 HLR.

(LAFAYETTE, Ore.) - Victor Melcher Villalba Police have positively identified the female body found near Lafayette, on Sunday, October 2, 2016. The victim is 37-year old Lilia Cosco-Ortiz, of Vancouver, WA.

She was positively identified late yesterday, Monday, October 3, however this information was withheld by authorities until family members were advised. Ms. Cosco-Ortiz was last seen leaving her Vancouver home, late Saturday, October 1, 2016.

Female Body Found in Field Outside Lafayette

Autopsy reveals she died of Homicidal violence.

(LAFAYETTE, Ore.) - Lafayette, Oregon On Sunday, about 1:14 pm, the body of a female was found in a blueberry field by a few citizens who were driving through the area. Once they realized what it was they contacted authorities.

Monday, October 3rd, an autopsy was conducted on the unidentified female by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office. The medical examiner has determined the cause of death was by homicidal violence.

David Elliott Pleads Guilty to Murder by Abuse of 3-Year-old Aniya Zamora

Elliott was sentenced to the presumptive sentence of life imprisonment.

(SALEM, Ore.) - David G. Elliott David Gene Elliott pleaded guilty and was sentenced for the assault and murder of 3 year-old Aniya Zamora, and assault of 5 year-old Xadrian Zamora September 30, 2016, before the Honorable Dale Penn.

Elliott pleaded guilty to Murder by Abuse and two counts of Assault in the Third Degree.

She was last seen about 11:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Amber Dawn Pierini The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate a 30-year-old woman reported missing from Southeast Portland.

30-year-old Amber Dawn Pierini is described as 5'2" tall, 100 pounds, dyed-reddish hair, blue eyes, last seen wearing a red tank top, gray sweater and blue jeans.

Newberg Man Killed In Highway 99W Crash

Reaction time when driving can be in split seconds.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - fatal crash on Highway 99W Preliminary investigation revealed a 2012 Acura MDX was traveling northbound on Highway 99W when it encountered stopped traffic, which was a result of another crash.

The Acura driver braked rapidly and came to a stop. A 2002 Harley Davidson was following the Acura and rear ended it which ejected the the motorcyclist.
