Boise Woman Injured in Bicycle Crash During Cycle Oregon South of Grants Pass

The rider was was wearing all required protective equipment including a helmet.

(GRANTS PASS, Ore.) - Police light An Idaho woman participating in Cycle Oregon was seriously injured Wednesday morning when she crashed on her bicycle on Highway 199 south of Grants Pass. The woman is reported in stable condition at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.

Police say a preliminary information indicates on September 16, 2009 at approximately 8:30 a.m. 48-year old Catheryn Alexander of Boise, Idaho was riding northbound with a group of cyclists along Highway 199 near milepost 11.

Armed Robbery Suspect Sought in Clackamas County

The robbery suspect is described as a white, male adult in his late 20's to early 30's, about six feet tall, and 220 pounds.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Suspect in a recent coffee house armed robbery in Clackamas, Oregon Investigators in Clackamas County say last Friday just before 4:00 p.m., a male subject robbed The Coffee's On -- a coffee shop located on SE Sunnyside Road, in Clackamas.

Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says they believe the robbery suspect was armed. He reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Yamhill County Charity Director Indicted for Embezzlement

Elizabeth Rhode was arrested on September 15, 2009.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Elizabeth Anne Rhode faces seven counts of forgery and aggravated theft for allegedly stealing more than $50,000 from the Crystal Dawn Smith Rilee Foundation, Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said.

The Sheriff joined Yamhill County District Attorney Brad Berry and Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today, to announce the indictment and arrest of the local charity director on charges of embezzlement.

Feds Say Health Insurance Reform Cannot Wait in Oregon

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Oregon`s state flag Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today released a new analysis of last week’s U.S. Census numbers regarding the uninsured. The results are sobering and confirm that health insurance reform cannot wait another year. Nationwide, the number of uninsured increased from 39.8 million in 2001 to 46.3 million in 2008.

“These numbers only serve to further confirm a reality that far too many American families live with every day,” said Secretary Sebelius.

Oregon`s Minimum Wage Won`t Rise in 2010

Cost-of-living wage peg is "working as intended," says OCPP.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - minimum wage graphic Oregon's lowest-paid workers won't be getting a raise next year. With the recession keeping inflation in check, Oregon law has not triggered a cost-of-living increase in the state's minimum wage for 2010, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) announced today.

The state's minimum wage will stay put at $8.40 an hour in 2010, the first year without an increase since Measure 25 took effect. That voter-approved measure upped the state's minimum wage in 2003 and mandated subsequent annual cost-of-living increases based on the Consumer Price Index.

Oregon Motorcycle Operator Dies from Injuries Sustained in Monday Crash

The crash happened Monday on Belt Line Road north of Eugene.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Fatal crash on the Beltline in Eugene, Oregon 9-14-09 A Springfield-area motorcyclist who was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash, died early Wednesday morning at an area hospital. The crash happened police say, when the rider lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Belt Line Road north of Eugene.

Oregon State Police says 21-year old Timothy Russell Tull of Springfield was riding a 1997 Yamaha motorcycle September 14, 2009 at approximately 4:10 p.m. eastbound on Belt Line Road near milepost 6 when the crash occurred.
