Coin Shop Owner That Was Tased and Robbed Talks to Salem-News.com (VIDEO)

Police have not yet caught up with the suspects; two white male adults in their late 20's to early 30's.

New Year`s Eve Assault Suspect Convicted on Attempted Murder

A man who slashed and cut his girlfriend's face with a pocket knife is convicted on all charges.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Rodolfo Hernandez Cruz Rodolfo Hernandez Cruz was accused of a viscous assault on his girlfriend in a fit of jealousy on New Year's Eve 2009. He has since been convicted of his crimes and is awaiting sentencing.

Beaverton Police explain that on January 1st 2009 at 5:14 a.m. they received a call from residents at the Conestoga Park Apartments reporting an assault occurring now, with a weapon. They explained that a man was attacking a woman with a knife.

Chrysler Plans to Close Almost 800 Dealerships

Many dealerships in the Northwest are part of the announced closures.

(NEW YORK) - Chrysler 300 Chrysler LLC has announced that it plans to eliminate around a quarter of its 3,200 U.S. dealerships by early next month. The company cites a bankruptcy court filing Thursday that the network is antiquated and has too many stores competing with each other.

Chrysler filed a motion with the U.S. bankruptcy Court in New York announcing its plans to eliminate 789 dealerships by June 9th.

Canada: Feds to Pay for Military Veterans Medical Marijuana

The policy change was approved last October, but is only now being communicated to veterans who require the product for pain management and other severe medical conditions.

(OTTAWA Canadian Press) - Canadian flag The military may strictly forbid marijuana use by its soldiers, but the federal government has decided to pay for medical cannabis for some veterans.

Veterans Affairs has reversed a previous ban, now saying it "may provide payment in relation to the associated costs of medically required marijuana to clients who have qualified."

Medford Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 140E Near Adel

The victim was reportedly enroute to Washington, DC to attend a POW and veteran's memorial event called "Rolling Thunder".

(ADEL, Ore.) - Fatal crash Police investigators say a Medford-area man died Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a rock wall on Highway 140E just west of Adel in Lake County.


Oregon State Police Sergeant Steve Yates says that at approximately 1:45 p.m. 64-year old Walter Smith was operating a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle traveling with a friend on a separate motorcycle eastbound on Highway 140E near milepost 25.

(DETROIT, Ore.) - Detroit Lake Fishing Derby The Annual Detroit Fishing Derby has landed on a spectacular weather weekend this year! With high’s near 80 on Saturday and Sunday, this promises to be a gorgeous time to be on the lake.

The Derby starts Friday May 15th and goes through Sunday the 17th. Registration and fish entry is from 6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the last fish is counted at 2pm sharp. The registration fee is $12 for adults and $7 for kids.
