Oregonians Fighting for Fair Cannabis Laws Strengthen Numbers

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon cannabis "The most important part is showing up." This simple fact is true in every case where a showing of support is needed. This year, the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program is at risk, and the collective voice of the people is what's needed most.

The Marijuana Legalization Committee Hearing for SB 1598 is being held Tuesday, Feb 23. Activists and concerned Oregonians will be meeting on the Capitol steps at noon for a rally, before the afternoon's Legislative activities. There will be a couple of canopies set up for shelter, as there is expected to be some rain.

MCSO Deputies Investigating Deadly Crash in North Marion County

Tragic crash on St. Paul Highway

(MARION COUNTY, Ore.) - traffic fatal Today at about 11:30 am, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies were called to investigate a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Arbor Grove Road NE and St. Paul Highway.

Investigators with the MCSO Crash Team have concluded that the passenger car was driving south on Arbor Grove Road NE when the driver crashed his silver Mazda 3 through a stop sign and the car slid underneath a semi-truck and trailer that was traveling westbound on St. Paul Highway.

Oregon Marijuana Dispensary Tax Payment Deadline Nears

The temporary 25% tax is applied to the retail price of all recreational marijuana products sold by dispensaries through December 31, 2016.

(SALEM, Ore.) - clipartfreefor.com Medical marijuana dispensaries selling recreational products only have a few days left to register with the Department of Revenue and remit the taxes they collected from customers in January. The deadline is February 29.

According to the Oregon Health Authority, there are 320 dispensaries selling recreational marijuana, and 245 have registered.

Clatsop County Holds Press Conference in Relation to the Seaside Shooting

(SALEM, Ore.) - Clatsop County DA Joshua Marquis At about 9:20 p.m. on Friday night February 5 in downtown Seaside a wanted 17-time felon named Phillip Ferry was spotted by two uniformed Seaside Police officers. Both officers were familiar with Mr. Ferry and a check revealed an active felony warrant.

As officers tried to detain and arrest him, Ferry shot 39-year-old Seaside Police Sergeant Jason Goodding with a single shot from a semi-automatic pistol resulting in Sgt. Goodding's almost immediate death.
