Oregon Medical Marijuana Card Holder Sentenced to 16 Months in Prison

A second suspect in the case received three years of probation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A 47-year old Portland man has received a 16-month prison sentence over a conviction for Possession and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance.

The "controlled substance" was marijuana. While the man, 47-year old Sayaseng Vongsoury was a valid Oregon Medical Marijuana user, police say he possessed an amount far in excess of what is legal.

Soldiers in Iraq Declared Missing, Possibly Captured

(BAGHDAD, Iraq) - Two soldiers from the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division who were missing from an operation in Iraq, are now believed to be missing, government sources acknowledge that they have been possibly captured by enemy forces.

The Department of Defense has changed the status of two soldiers serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom from duty status whereabouts unknown "DUSTWUN" as the military calls it, to missing-captured.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County detectives have arrested a man in connection with a recent robbery at the Figaro's Pizza store at 4688 Portland Road in Salem.

Marion County Sheriff's Office Lt. Bob Stai says that in following up on a robbery this past Sunday at the Figaro's Pizza store, detectives arrested 26-year old Robert Eugene Owens of Woodburn, Oregon.

Northwestern Oregon to Enter Fire Season July 5th

Districts entering into fire season on July 5th include Forest Grove, Tillamook and Astoria.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Department of Forestry announced today that its northwestern Oregon districts will enter fire season on July 5th.

Fire season imposes certain restrictions on activities in the forest. Logging operations, for example, are required to have a fire watch present after work activity ceases for the day, and fire suppression equipment must be positioned on site.

Keizer Police Seeking Assistance in 2004 Unsolved Homicide

A $1,500 reward is being offered by Phillip Johnson's family.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at 1845 Claxter Road NE in Keizer. The victim, Phillip Lynn Johnson who was 33-year old at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Keizer Police Department have continued to investigate this incident. Sgt Lance Inman with Keizer Police says that in an effort to assist Detectives in the investigation, the family of Phillip Johnson has offered a reward of $1,500.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The family of Major Gregory Young is beginning preparations for his memorial and funeral. Greg Young was an Oregon Air National Guard pilot who died tragically over the weekend, when his F-15 jet fighter crashed off the Oregon coast near Cannon Beach.
