(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) - Two armed suspects shouting "this is a revolution" opened fire on two Las Vegas police officers eating lunch in a pizza parlor on Sunday, then shot and killed a civilian inside a nearby Wal-Mart store before killing themselves, police said.

Firefighters Battling Heat, Strong Winds as Oregon Wildfire Continues to Grow

Increasing temperatures and afternoon winds are expected to challenge firefighters and potentially cause an escalation in fire behavior.

(BEND, Ore. ) - More than 300 firefighters worked overnight on the Two Bulls Wildfire burning west of Bend.

Active fire continued throughout the night, prompting an additional evacuation of the Johnson Ridge subdivision. Approximately 250 homes have now been evacuated. The Red Cross has established a shelter at High Desert Middle School in Bend (this is a new location).

Oregon Says Good Bye to 400 Troops Headed for Afghanistan

The battalion will provide security and support for military facilities in Kabul and southwestern Afghanistan.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Oregon Army National Guard bid farewell to Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, in a mobilization ceremony, on Saturday at the Salem Armory Auditorium, in Salem, Ore.

Approximately 400 Soldiers from the battalion, headquartered in Springfield, Ore., with companies also based in Corvallis, Gresham, and Hillsboro, will complete mobilization processing and training at Fort Hood, Texas prior to departure for Afghanistan.

Oregon Fires Crews Battling Two Fast Moving Wildfires Near Bend

The fire's have grown to over 6,100 acres overnight and some 2,000 homes are now threatened. The fire is zero percent contained.

(BEND, Ore. ) - Two fast moving forest fires which are burning over 300 acres north of Bend, caused homes to be evacuated as firefighters came in to fight the blazes.

The Oregon Department of Forestry says the Two Bulls Fire was called in by a lookout around 12:48 p.m. on Saturday. They were burning in open land around ten miles northwest of Bend.

Truck Driver Arrested in Two States on DUII Charges Three Days Apart

The driver was also arrested June 3 by a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper for DUII while operating a commercial truck.

(LaGRANDE, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police arrested a commercial truck driver for DUII and other traffic-related offenses Friday afternoon following a reported citizen's driving complaint on Interstate 84 east of La Grande.

The driver's blood alcohol content level was more than seven times the legal BAC (.04) for commercial truck drivers in Oregon.

(BEAVERTON, Ore. ) - Two women remain behind bars today, after police said they were sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl.

Police arrested 23-year-old Erica Dana Lummus, of Molalla, and 24-year-old Italia Angelique Porter, of Vancouver, Washington in connection with an investigation that started at a Beaverton Motel on May 23.

(LEBANON, Ore. ) - Police in Lebanon are asking for the public's help in locating a 71-year-old man who was last seen on Thursday.

Police are looking for 71-year-old Jim Dietrich, of Lebanon, who was reported missing by his wife who last saw him Thursday morning at their home.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Veterinary researchers at Oregon State University have identified a unique group of proteins that indicate the presence of transitional cell carcinoma – the most common cause of bladder cancer – and may lead to a new assay which could better diagnose this disease in both dogs and humans.
