Well Known Salem Judge, Albin Norblad, Died as a Result Of A Fall

It was determined that Judge Norblad died of a subdural hematoma which was the result of an accidental fall.

(SALEM) - gavel The Salem Police Department responded to the residence of Marion County Circuit Court Judge Albin Norblad at about 10:00 AM Monday to check on him since he was not answering his telephone.

After obtaining a key to the residence, officers entered and found him deceased. A police investigation was initiated as is standard in all unattended deaths.

Burma Urged to Drop Census Questions on Ethnicity, Religion

After the last census in 1983, the military regime reported that Muslims constituted 4 percent of the population in the Buddhist-majority country, but this percentage may not be accurate.

(RANGOON) - The questionnaire used during the Population and Housing Pilot Census in 2013. (Photo: Pyay Kyaw Myint / UNFPA) The International Crisis Group (ICG) is urging the Burma government and the United Nations to amend the country’s nationwide census survey.

Targeted at influencing the way Muslims participate in the process, the census includes questions described as “needlessly antagonistic and divisive.”

Salem Police Release More On Fatal Crash

26-year old Kelly Moore of McMinnville, died at the scene as did her 9-year old daughter Jasmine Moore.

(SALEM) - Fatal crash in Salem, Or 2-10-14 The Salem Police Department Traffic Control Unit is continuing its investigation into a crash that claimed the lives of one adult and one child on the evening of February 11 in southeast Salem.

Officers responded to the scene on Turner Rd SE, south of the intersection with Airway Dr. SE at approximately 6:17 pm.
