Red Cross Blood Drives Remain Open in Portland, Salem and Vancouver

Urgent need for blood and platelet donors call 1-800-RED CROSS.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Blood drive Despite the tough winter weather conditions, the Red Cross remains open at main donor center locations in Portland, Salem and Vancouver. The Red Cross is asking donors to put their safety first, follow preparedness recommendations - and if able - to make their way to a donation location nearest to their home or workplace.

"Our donor centers will continue to operate because the need for blood does not go away with bad weather conditions," said Daphne Mathew, communications director for the Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region.

Woodburn Man Stabbed, Later Dies at Hospital

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Woodburn Police Department at 503-982-2345.

(WOODBURN) - Stabbing investigation Woodburn police officers, along with the Marion County Homicide Assault Response Team (H.A.R.T.), are investigating a stabbing that happened near the intersection of Brown and Bradley streets in Woodburn.

Woodburn officers arrived at the scene on Feb. 6 at 10:13 p.m. and found an adult male who had been stabbed. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Drivers had a challenge trying to keep their vehicles on the road as conditions became very icy and slick.

(SALEM) - Snow on I-5 near Salem, Oregon Thursday was cold and dangerous in Oregon as snow swept through the Mid Willamette Valley, bringing residents of Oregon's capital city and surrounding areas a genuine winter wonderland.

Death Investigation - Man Dies After Jump From Building on Oregon State University Campus

"The death appears to not be suspicious and was the result of an intentional act," OSP Lieutenant Steve Mitchell stated in a news release.

(CORVALLIS, OR) - Death investigation Oregon State Police (OSP) are continuing the investigation into the death of an adult male found early Thursday morning on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus after he fell from a building located on the south side of the campus.

The initial investigation indicates the man was a student.

Salem PD SWAT Team Arrests Man in Stolen Motorcycle Case

At least one person was taken into custody.

(SALEM) - Salem SWAT team The Salem Police SWAT team served a search warrant Wednesday evening at a residence in the 2000 block of Trade Street SE as the result of an investigation concerning a suspected stolen motorcycle.

At about 5:30 PM, the SWAT team and several other police vehicles arrived on the scene. The police action closed the street and gave citizens much to be concerned about. 49-year old Anthony Salmons was taken into custody.

Sheriff's Office responds to fatal shooting, seeks tips from public, adds photos of suspect's Mercedes Benz.

(CLACKAMAS) - Suspect Dirck Morgan White -- 41, of Edgefield, WA -- is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. On Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10:48 a.m., Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported shooting on Hwy. 224 near Amsigger Road outside of Barton.

The shooting is considered a homicide, and suspect Dirck Morgan White -- 41, of Edgefield, WA -- is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.

(PORTLAND, OR) - First Sergeant Cory Remberg First Sergeant Cory Remberg is the best or worst example of America's betrayal of our best troops in our questionable wars. When I saw this brutally battered soldier at the President's State of the Union speech, I could not help but weep. There for the grace of God go I. 300,000 Combat Infantry were killed in my WWII.

I have medically taken care of about 1,000 military PTSD victims and successfully, I might add but none so bad as this.
