An Open Letter to Soldiers with `Mental Health` Issues

You stand at the fork of two paths...

(TASMANIA, Aust.) - Soldiers and PTSD Are you a soldier or veteran who is supposed to have a 'mental health' issue such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia or PTSD? If you are, then I have some suggestions for you to consider.

My first suggestion is that you ignore any label that you have been given. For example, the term 'post-traumatic stress disorder' (PTSD) is an inaccurate and unhelpful way of labelling the appropriate, diverse and complex emotional responses that a normal human being will have to emotionally disturbing events of the type that are experienced during war.

18-year-old Maria Hussein al-Jawhari wrote those words on her Facebook page on 02 January 2014, in the wake of the deadly blast that rocked al-Arid Street in Haret Hreik.

(LOS ANGELES) - Los Angeles City Hall A new law banning single-use plastic bags in Los Angeles, passed with a 9-1 city council vote, went into effect on the first of January. Los Angeles is the most populous city in the U.S. to enact an ordinance ending this business practice which is called highly wasteful by environmental groups.

It will take some getting used to, but the ban does closely mirror the ordinance adopted by unincorporated L.A. County in 2011, reports Laist.com

Death investigation is taking place in the 2200 Block of Harbeck Road South of Grants Pass.

(GRANTS PASS) - Death investigation Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers and Criminal Investigations Division detectives are investigating the death Tuesday morning of an adult male during a reported burglary in progress at a business south of Grants Pass.

Preliminary information indicates on January 21, 2014 at 7:07 a.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch received a transferred 9-1-1 call of an interrupted burglary in progress of a business at 2245 Harbeck Road south of Grants Pass.
