(DAMASCUS) - Yarmouk refugee camp The Syria Solidarity Movement calls on all combatants in and around Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria to spare the civilian population in the camp from starvation and suffering, to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and to recognize the rights of the population. We condemn the inhuman treatment of the population.

We call for an immediate ceasefire by all sides, in order to allow all persons that wish to leave the camp the opportunity and means to do so, and for food and medicine to be supplied to those choosing to remain.

Oregon FOX-12 is reporting a story about a woman who may have come very close to a bad ending. Her story typifies the problem magnified by the insistence of the law enforcement community in using this dangerous practice.

Former employee says union is guilty of discrimination toward Blacks and preferential treatment of Whites.

(SALEM) - SEIU bigotry toward Blacks Allegations of racial unfairness are rife at the union representing employees of the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, SEIU (Service Employees International Union).

Salem resident William Coleman, a former state employee, says he was floored last summer when he was told he had to leave a union meeting. He would later learn that a former employee who is White, was allowed to attend the same meeting he was personally ejected from.

`Footsteps for Rebecca`: Young Man Walking LA to Seattle for Needy Amputees

Approximately 2.5 million North Americans are currently living with limb loss.

(COOS BAY) - Jeremiah and Rebecca Jeremiah Ray, brother of a leg amputee, is walking up the west coast of the United States to increase awareness of the serious problems faced by amputees and raise funds for the Amputee Coalition, a support and advocacy group.

He and his hiking companion started in Los Angeles in late November, passed through northern California into Oregon over the weekend, passed through the Coos Bay area yesterday, and will be passing up the Oregon coast in the coming days.
