A total of 80 armed militants give up fighting and handed over their weapons to government in the northern Baghlan Province on Sunday, provincial governor Sultan Mohammad Abadi said.

A total of 99 Taliban militants gave up fighting in the northern and western parts of Afghanistan over the weekend, while the militants organized a suicide attack in the capital city Kabul, injuring at least six police personnel.
A suicide bomber blew himself up in Afghan capital Kabul, killing himself and injuring six others on Sunday, police said.

Omar Saad, 18 years old from Mghar, a village in the Galil, arrived, Monday 13.1.2014, to the Induction Base in Tal Hashomer where he declared his refusal to serve in the Israeli Army. Omar was sentenced to 20 days of imprisonment for his refusal, in the military prison No. 6 near Atlit.
Omar is a young guy belonging to the Palestinian Arab Druze community. This community, in contrast to Arab society in large, was the target of a decision by Prime Minister Ben Gurion in 1956 that forced them to serve in the Israeli army.

The Saint Joseph’s Hospice, Rawalpindi had been running low of funds to the verge of closure. The expenses of running this charitable institution working exceeded far beyond funds available past few months so much so that the administration had announced possible closure of the Hospice.
In this regard, Sister Walsh was determined to keep the hospice running said: I will fight to keep the hospice open, as closing seems too painful an option.

This Thursday, two Eugene youths’ climate change case (Chenaik v. Kitzhaber) will be argued before the Oregon Court of Appeals in their hometown at the University of Oregon School of Law.
The lawsuit was filed against Governor Kitzhaber and the State of Oregon for failing to protect essential natural resources, including state waters, coast lines, and the atmosphere, as required under the Public Trust Doctrine.
