Cliché Mania: Profanity`s Quagmire

I rather wish those cliché-mongers could alter their ways and revisit their paucity of expressing things with precision. To me, that would be a Christmas present unto themselves.

(SALEM) - Earlier this week I attended a Men's Retreat held out at the Oregon Coast. Its aim was to explore ourselves in depth and where we were heading in retirement. We touched on our relationships with our parents, our spouses and siblings, and most of all, ourselves.

(TEL AVIV) - Omar Saad, 18 years old from Mghar, a village in the Galil, arrived, Wedensday 4/12/2013, to the Induction Base in Tiberias, where he declared his refusal to serve in the Israeli Army.

He arrived with many supporters and objectors to the mandatory military service imposed on Arab-Palestinian Druze Comunity in Israel. On 5/12/2013, Omar was sentenced to 20 days of imprisonment for his refusal, in the military prison No. 6 near Atlit.

(CLACKAMAS) - Police say 13-year-old runaway Samantha Dodson is endangered. They believe she may have left with 40-year-old male Kelsey McCune. Authorities believe Dodson and McCune, age 40, may be using public transit.

They may also have camping equipment. The Sheriff's Office is concerned about Dodson's welfare because of the record-cold temperatures expected to last for days.

New Report: Unregulated Contaminants Common in Drinking Water

Eighteen of the chemicals are not regulated under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act so utilities do not have to meet any limit or even monitor for them.

(WASHINGTON, DC ) - Traces of 18 unregulated chemicals were found in drinking water from more than one-third of U.S. water utilities in a nationwide sampling, according to new, unpublished research by federal scientists.

Included are 11 perfluorinated chemicals, an herbicide, two solvents, caffeine, an antibacterial compound, a metal and an antidepressant.

It is a new political formation based on the principles of nationhood, homeland and self-determination.
