(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Modified Dolls The Oregon Modified Dolls are hosting a charity event benefiting The American Cancer Society in Salem next weekend, and anyone over 21 is invited to stop by to see all the action.

This special event will feature a 250-pound pig roast with all the fixings that will be available for a $5 suggested donation, and TNT Hollywood Tavern has graciously donated a beer garden which will be covered, in case of inclement weather.

Kingsley Field Suffers Loss of Guardmember due to Accidental Fall

Tech. Sgt. Ken Patsch is well remembered.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - 173d fighter wing Members of the 173rd Fighter Wing are saddened by the news of Tech. Sgt. Ken Patsch's death, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 in an accidental fall in the Klamath River Canyon, near Keno, Ore.

Patsch was an engine mechanic in the 173rd Maintenance Group. Lieutenant Col. Jeffrey Smith, 173rd Maintenance Squadron commander said, "We are sad to say goodbye to a co-worker and friend. He served his nation faithfully for over 15 years."

(LONDON) - Joel Yagao On 8 September 2013, human rights defender Mr Joel Q. Yagao was arrested by six members of the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police on baseless charges of double murder and multiple murder. He is currently being detained at Gingoog City Jail.

Joel Q. Yagao is a lay co-worker attached to the human rights organisation Rural Missionaries of the Philippines – Northern Mindanao sub-region (RMP-NMR), where he is responsible for agrarian campaigns in partnership with farmers' organisations and other community-based organisations aiming to increase the standard of living of local communities and defend land rights.

Logging Helicopter Crash Claims Life of Pilot

Logging is a dangerous occupation, whether above or on the ground.

(DETROIT, OR.) - Helicopter crash A log-transporter helicopter crashed in Linn County near Blowout Road, two miles from Highway 22 east of Salem, claiming the life of the pilot Monday morning.

The helicopter had picked up a load when witnesses reported hearing a loud snapping sound which was followed by logs hitting the ground and it appeared the pilot had released the logs electronically, indicating the pilot knew of a problem prior to the crash.

Al Jazeera: `No Clear Evidence` for Rise in Iraqi Birth Defects

A March finding of 'damning evidence' in the increase in cancers and other health issues was reversed by a new report.

(DETROIT) - Iraqi Birth Defects A short and anonymous report just appeared on the World Health Organization (WHO) website. It is titled "Summary of prevalence of reported congenital birth defects in 18 selected districts in Iraq." Previously, this report was referred to on the WHO website as a "joint study" with the Iraqi Ministry of Health (MoH) which began in May-June 2012.

It was to examine the prevalence of congenital birth defects in a number of geographically dispersed areas of Iraq which were exposed to bombardment or heavy fighting, or were unexposed.

At Least 12 Fatalities in DC Navy Yard Shooting - Police

A male police officer and two civilian women are in critical conditions, but have “very good” chances for survival.

(WASHINGTON DC RT) - Washington Navy Yard Two of the three shooters, who went on a rampage at the Washington Navy Yard in Southeast DC, may be still at large, police said, adding that one gunman has been killed. At least 12 other people have died in the attack.

“The big concern for us right now is that we have potentially two other shooters that we have not located at this point,” D.C. Police Chief, Cathy Lanier, said.
