Uruguay To Be the First Country in the World to Legalize Marijuana

Yes. Uruguay is about to become the first country in the world to regulate and control all aspects of marijuana production and trade.

(SALEM) - President Jose Mujica of Uruguay After a fierce 13 hours debate, the lower house of the Uruguayan parliament, the chamber of deputies, narrowly approved on July 31 the marijuana legalization bill introduced by President Mujica and his governing coalition.

The bill was approved by a thin 50 majority vote of the 96 “diputados” presents in the lower house (out of a total of 99).

More than half of Arkansas, about 52 percent, is being gripped by moderate drought conditions, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report.

(STATE COLLEGE, PA AccuWeather.com) - Regions of brain-eating qmoeba AccuWeather reports a 12-year-old girl contracted a rare infection caused by a brain-eating amoeba in Arkansas, and it may be tied to summer heat and drought conditions, according to the CDC.

The amoeba, or single-celled organism, that caused the infection is called Naegleria fowleri, which lives in warm freshwater, such as lakes, rivers and hot springs.

Jones yelled, 'Wake up,' and Stomped on the Mans Leg

(PORTLAND OR) - Police arrested 21-year-old Terrence Alexander Jones in Old Town early this morning.

Jones was seen stomping on a sleeping homeless man's leg at about 2:04 AM in Portland's Central precinct.

After the arrest, officers learned that Jones is currently on the roster of the Houston Rockets NBA team.

The community gathered to support the investigation of this tragedy.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Aniya Zamora About seventy-five people came together on the Marion County courthouse steps Tuesday night, seeking justice for a little girl whose life was cut short. The 3 ½ year old girl was found dead in her home on April 19, 2013.

The candlelight vigil for Aniya Zamora gave the group the chance to pray, and share their thoughts, giving comfort to the grieving and showing support for the quest to learn the truth.
