(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) - Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway This past week, Pike County, Kentucky settled its lawsuit against Purdue Pharma over the company’s narcotic painkiller OxyContin.

The amount? $4 million for approximately 65,000 people in Pike County If you do the math that equates to $61.54 per person in Pike County -- a county crippled by OxyContin in deaths and addictions.

Ad-hominem excuses for argument are rife on the internet, where some writers seem stupid enough to deserve the insults, and others are victims of underserved personal attacks.

Inmate Charged in Stabbing Death of Another Inmate

The victim was serving a 30 day sentence for Contempt of Court.

(SALEM OR) - Suspect, 42-year old David Ray Bartol The victim inmate stabbing victim in the June 4th assault that occurred in the Marion County Jail died from his injuries at about 8:45 p.m., Sunday night.

A press release issued by the Marion County Sheriff's Office indicates that the victim, 33-year old Gavin Lee Siscel, was only serving 30 days on a contempt of court charge.

Appeals Court Binds Monsanto To Promise Not To Sue Organic Farmers

The Organic Seed plaintiffs’ complaint detailed Monsanto's abusive business and litigation tactics that have put several farmers and independent seed companies out of business.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Gavel Court of Appeals judges affirmed the Southern District of New York's previous decision that the plaintiffs did not present a sufficient controversy to warrant adjudication by the courts.

However, it did so only because Monsanto made repeated commitments during the lawsuit to not sue farmers with “trace amounts” of contamination of crops containing their patented genes.
