Presidents Meet to Discuss How to Bring Peace in DRC

The M23 rebels led by General Bosco Ntaganda in April 2012 launched a rebellion on the Government of President Kabila leading to the displacement of over 250,000 people.

(KAMPALA) - Ntaganda and Kagame Leaders of great lakes region are meeting in Uganda in the 4th fourth emergency summit on the crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo.(DRC)

The meeting which started today morning is being held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in the outskirts of Uganda's capital Kampala.

(NEW YORK CITY) - Protest in New York City Rohingya Concern International (RCI) actively participated under the banner of Burma Task Force/New York in the demonstration held on September 27, 2012 while Burmese President Thein Sein was delivering a speech at Asia Society/NYC.

In his speech RCI- President said that Rohingyas are bona fide citizens and an imdegenous people of Burma/Myanmar.

At this point, the very opposite is still taking place and it is taking a toll on human rights defender Ms Gulshan Karaeva, who was arrested in late September and charged with “Slander”, and “Insult”.

(COLOMBO, Sri Lanka Guardian) - Perhaps the biggest insult of all is the LLRC, `Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission` The attack on the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) Secretary Manjula Thilekaratne by four persons this morning had been carried out with the intervention of a higher political office, government sources said.

The JSC Secretary who was injured in the attack is being treated at the Colombo National Hospital.

35 Deaths from Fungal Meningitis: Victims Received Spinal Steroid Shots for Back Pain

The company that supplied the steroid is what is known as a "Compounding pharmacy".

(PORTLAND, OR) - Spinal shot 35 people in six states — Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, North Carolina and Indiana — have contracted fungal meningitis, five of them have died, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

All victims so far received spinal steroid shots for back pain, which is a highly common treatment option, but officials wonder and question of the victim list stops there.
