It is a tragedy any time a person is violently killed, but in the case of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, it is a sharper, more painful tragedy.

All politics aside, this is a man who dedicated his life to understanding the Libyan people, language and culture.

India Tops the World in Under-5 Deaths

According to an estimate, about one third of world’s poor lived in India.

(RENO,NV) - Starving children in India India is top in the world for under-five deaths at 1.7 million, which is 24% of the share of total number of such deaths, according to a new UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) report.

Under-5 mortality rate of India was 61 in 2011, where neonatal causes, followed by pneumonia were the highest cause of such deaths.

OSU, City of Newport Plan for Exhibit Featuring Piece of Tsunami Dock

(NEWPORT, OR) - Dock on the beach A section from a huge dock that ripped loose from its moorings in the northern Japanese city of Misawa during the massive earthquake and tsunami in March of 2011 will become part of an exhibit in Newport, Ore.

A piece of the huge structure has been saved and will be on display at Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center by early next year.
