Crash Kills Motorcycle Rider Near Silver Falls State Park

At this hour, Highway 214 remains restricted to one lane at the scene. OSP troopers say they expect the congestion to continue for about another hour.

(SALEM) - Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal traffic crash on Highway 214 about five miles west of Silver Falls State Park.

Investigators say it reportly occurred about 2:45 PM and involves a motorcycle and Jeep Wrangler.

The motorcycle operator died in the crash, while two occupants in the Jeep were not injured.

At this hour, Highway 214 remains restricted to one lane at the scene. OSP troopers say they expect the congestion to continue for about another hour.

The next of kin has not been notified, the names will be released later. The investigation is continuing.
