11-Year Old Banks, Oregon Boy Dies in Crash on Timberline RoadSalem-News.comOregon State Police troopers from Government Camp and Portland are continuing the investigation.
(BANKS, Ore.) - Oregon State Police were notified that an 11-year old Banks-area boy critically injured Sunday afternoon when he was ejected from the pickup his mother was driving as it rolled on Timberline Road about 3 miles north of Highway 26 died Tuesday afternoon. Police say Sunday at approximately 5:55 PM, a 2001 Ford F150 pickup driven by 48-year old Ruthanne Adams of Banks, was traveling downhill southbound on Timberline Road near milepost 3 negotiating a right hand curve when it lost control, hit a snowbank and rolled. The pickup came to rest on its wheels blocking the southbound lane. The right front passenger, 11-year old Phillip Hunter Kollar of Banks, was not using safety restraints and was ejected from the pickup. He was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health Sciences University where he was being treated until he passed away today. Adams was using safety restraints and received minor injuries. She and another son, 13-year old Alex Kollar who was seated in the right rear seat of the crewcab pickup, were transported by AMR ambulance to OHSU. Alex Kollar also received minor injuries. Oregon State Police troopers from Government Camp and Portland are continuing the investigation.
