(ALBANY, Ore. ) - Albany Parks & Recreation staff will host a public forum and workshop to consider creating a bike park in Albany.

The forum is intended to identify the needs and related issues of those with a stake in the building of a bike park, including skaters, BMX bikers, donors, public safety officials, parents, neighbors, and event organizers; to develop strategies and actions to address those needs and issues; and to determine the next steps in appointing a bike park task force. The outcome will be reported to the City’s Parks & Recreation Commission and the Albany City Council.

Parks & Recreation staff will act as facilitators for the meeting.

BMX riders asked for a bike park at the March 5th Parks & Recreation Commission meeting and the Commission decided then to create a task force. The April 8th meeting is the next step in creating that task force.

The meeting will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, April 8th in the Municipal Court Room at Albany City Hall, 333 Broadalbin St. SW
