(ROGUE RIVER, Ore.) - One person died Saturday evening after a two-vehicle head-on crash on Rogue River Highway, about four miles north of Rogue River.

Police say around 6:01 p.m., a 2006 Kia Sportage driven by 69-year old Ivan R. Bowman of Grants Pass, was northbound on Rogue River Highway near mile post 6 when it veered across the centerline and collided head-on with a motorcycle.

The 1999 Suzuki motorcycle was operated by 24-year old Kyle W. Williams of Rogue River. The bike was struck head-on.

Bowman did not receive any injuries that required treatment away from the scene.

Mr. Williams was wearing a safety helmet and was transported by Rogue River Ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.

He reportedly died of injuries sustained in the crash after arriving at the hospital.

Oregon State Police troopers from the Central Point Area Command office and Grants Pass worksite are completing their investigation.

OSP troopers were assisted at the scene by ODOT, Jackson County District Attorney's Office, Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office and the Rogue River Fire District.

This is why I am selling my bike. It is so much fun but not worth it. It is not a matter of if you get in a wreck, it's a matter of when. Also, anybody past 65 should have to go reapply for their license. Get visual checks and everything else.
