Oregon Sees Four Fatal Crashes SaturdaySalem-News.com StaffThe weather brings residents outdoors in droves; but this sunny day is shadowed by multiple fatal crashes on Oregon's roads.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 99 near Savage Rapids Dam. This is an area on Highway 99 between Rogue River and Grants Pass. This most recent crash was reported at 9:45 p.m. Oregon State Police reported at 6:45 p.m. Saturday that a fatal traffic crash happened on Highway 38, between Scottsburg and Elkton, involving a single motorcycle. Police say drivers should expect possible delays in travel in the area. They remind us that traffic updates may be available on ODOT's website at tripcheck.com. At this point they didn't have additional information for release. Oregon State Police say troopers were called to the scene of a fatal crash at 4:45 p.m. on Highway 18, near milepost 5 in Lincoln County. In that case, the highway was completely blocked. Additionally, there are no known alternate route around the crash scene. ODOT is on scene and traffic updates will be posted on www.tripcheck.com - no more information for release. Oregon State Police responded to a fatal traffic crash on Highway 101 around milepost 279 this morning south of Bandon. They say a single vehicle off road into a tree. It was reported that there was one fatality and one person transported with non-life threatening injuries. Oregon State Police troopers remained on scene investigating. There was no highway closure but travel was expected to be slow through area. They said no more information would be available for release until later today.
