Update: Dangerous Wanted Man Arrested Saturday Morning in Columbia CountySalem-News.comA Rainier police officer was on his way home when he came across McMillan walking down the road.
(CLATSKANIE, Ore.) - A man considered armed and dangerous by police who was wanted on several warrants including one charging attempted murder, was arrested Saturday morning after he was spotted by a police officer. 41-year old Patrick Allen McMillan was the subject of an extensive search by officers from local, county and State agencies Friday afternoon and evening 5 miles northwest of Clatskanie after officers say they spotted the man and he ran from a vehicle into the brush. McMillan was wanted on a Columbia County felony warrant listing numerous charges including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnap. He also has a felony warrant for Parole Violation issued by the Oregon State Parole Board. McMillan crashed a vehicle this morning at 4:00 AM on Heath Road and Wonderly Road just west of Rainier, according to Oregon State Police Sergeant Larry Lucas. "A witness reported seeing a man leaving the area on foot with a backpack. Between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM he was seen on Alston Road." Lucas says a Rainier police officer was on his way home when he came across McMillan walking down the road. "The officer detained McMillan until backup could arrive. An OSP trooper and officers from the Rainier Police Department, Clatskanie Police Department and Columbia County Sheriffs Office responded. McMillan was taken into custody without incident and lodged by Columbia County Sheriff's Office at their jail," Lucas said.
