Looming WOU Strike is OffBy: Neal Penland
(Monmouth) - Newsradio 1190 KEX says the 220 staff members at WOU are getting what they have been asking for. A strike set for Wednesday at Western Oregon University is off. Both sides sat at a bargaining table over the weekend with the mediator and hammered out a new deal. Chief teacher`s negotiator Peter Callero says the complex contract calls for a ten percent salary increase over the next two years based on enrollment. The teachers will vote on the new deal within the next couple of weeks.
