Occupants of Pickup From Fatal Car Crash on Whiskey Hill Rd NE Identified

(SALEM) - The man from the fatal crash on Whiskey Hill Rd NE on Wednesday, April 5th has bee 37-year-old Jose Salazar-Gutierrez of Woodburn. The driver of the silver Toyota pickup was 27-year-old Marco Bonilla-Arredondo of Woodburn.

He was taken to Emanuel Hospital where he underwent surgery for multiple severe trauma injuries. Mr. Bonilla-Arredondo is currently listed in fair condition. The second passenger, Enrique Avila-Garcia, approximately 35 years old, was taken to OHSU where he also underwent surgery for severe trauma injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition. Both men are also from Woodburn.

It remains unclear what caused the pickup to cross the center line into the path of the dump truck. The Marion County Crash team is continuing to investigate.
