(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Intoxicated drivers are arrested everyday on our highways, but one could not imagine what an Oregon State Police (OSP) recruit found at the Newport Area Command office Tuesday evening. Lieutenant Kelly Collins with OSP says yesterday at approximately 7:00 PM, OSP Recruit Trooper Ian McKay says he was at the Newport office completing a report when a private contractor's cleaning employee drove there with her 12-year old son to clean the OSP office.

Surprised by the woman's signs of possibly being intoxicated when she came inside to clean the office, Recruit McKay says he began an investigation.

He subsequently arrested 42-year old Ruby Ann Pederson of Newport, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Another OSP trooper transported her son home.
